How much should I save for retirement and as a Christian, what should my retirement years look like?
Key Points:
- Often times, people think of retirement as a time that they can make life “all about me”.This is not a biblical view of retirement.
- A follower of Christ is to use their later years to glorify God. If a Christian gets to the point that they do not need to work for a paycheck, they can serve the Lord more, not less.
- It is important to think ahead. A person will not always have the same earning power in the future as they have currently. (Proverbs 6:6-8)
- There is no specific amount that is the right amount to have before retiring from a job. It requires a person to pray and study scripture. (Luke 12:16-21)
Quote This:
Colossians 3:23-24 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.
