The interesting case of Simon from Acts 8 adds to the debate about how salvation works.
Talking Points:
- Simon was a sorcerer who was known for his magic tricks. Then he met Philip, “believed”, and was baptized. Acts 8:9-19
- Perhaps Simon was never truly saved. His baptism is an example of a “false conversion”. Acts 8:20-24
- Perhaps Simon was saved after all, but immature in his faith. Peter’s stern reprimand called him back on the right track. Galatians 6:1-2
