Set yourself up for success when dating by having the right mindset and the right kind of people around you.

Talking Points:

  • The first rule in dating is the first rule in all of life – love God first and foremost so you can love others well. The first step in Christian dating should be a step toward Jesus.
  • Rely on the people who know you best, love you most, and are willing to call you out. Trusted friends and family can see things you can’t. When it comes to dating, we’re often infatuated. We need outside accountability. Resist the impulse to date in isolation.
  • Only people who love Christ more than they love you will be courageous enough to step in and tell you when you’re wrong about the person you’re trying to date, about timing, and about boundaries. Proverbs 27:6
