Many guys today just go to church and check it off their to-do list. Jesus wants more for Christian men.
Key Points:
- It’s easy to develop a mindset as a Christian man that you go to church, check the box, and go home. We might call this a “bare minimum” mindset.
- It’s not just about church, it’s about how you view your Christian life. This starts by trusting Jesus, what is called “step one” in the full-circle mindset. Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a car.
- If you haven’t taken the first step of faith by trusting in Jesus Christ for your salvation, you are missing out. Take the first step, he is ready to embrace you and begin a relationship with you.
- Once you become a Christian, the second step is to live your life to honor God. We learn and lead a life of example. This means establishing a prayer life and a devotional life and modeling that for your family and kids.
- So many Christian men never get to step three: helping other people pursue God. This means discipling someone else.
- Many men don’t appreciate consumerism. Yet so many Christian men live their Christian lives as consumers. They go to church and take and go home and do that year after year, decade after decade. This turns them into takers. They are not givers in their Christian lives.
