Can we really believe the biblical promises of God’s care and protection? This story shares how God’s care in difficult times is real, but goes far beyond just physical well-being.
Video Highlights:
- The Bible is full of promises of God’s care and protection.
- Psalm 121:5-8 The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade… The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
- But how seriously can we take those promises? After all, God allows his people to go through difficult suffering in life. The Bible never promises a trouble-free life.
- For example, in 2003, Ross’ wife Nancy was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer came back in 2011. She died on February 8, 2012
- Was God really watching over her? Psalm 121 says, “The Lord keeps you from all harm.” But God allowed her to die from a horrible disease at a very early age.
- In tough times, God’s care goes far beyond just physical well-being.
- Psalm 121:8 says that God will watch over us “both now and forever.” There is a “forever” element to God’s care. Nancy had confidence of her eternal destiny through her faith in Jesus.
- God gave her incredible peace during the whole ordeal.
- God gave her great strength to get through the challenges, even as she became weaker and weaker physically.
- God blessed the family with so many loving relationships.
- The night before she died, Nancy experienced God’s care through a special outpouring of love from others. It felt like a kiss from God.
- The whole ordeal was hard! But God was real and present. As Psalm 121:5 says, God proved himself to be a “protective shade.”
God really does keep his promises. God really does care for the people who belong to him.
