Husbands, you have an important role in your home as the spiritual leader. Learn some practical tips on how to lead well.
Talking Points:
- Lead better by being informed. If we don’t know any better, it’s difficult for us to do any better. Study the following scriptures: Ephesians 5:25-33; 1 Corinthians 7:1-7; 1 Peter 3:7; 1 Timothy 5:8; Colossians 3:18-20.
- Be her example. Men should be the same in public and in private. Don’t praise God on Sunday and raise hell on Monday. Have integrity. Be a worshipper of God, a student of his word, and an encourager of others at all times.1 Timothy 4:12
- Lead by praying with her. Ask your wife how you can be praying for her and commit to doing so with her regularly.
- Initiate spiritual discussions. This means intentionally deciding to talk about spiritual things together. The resources at pursueGOD.org are a great place to find these sorts of discussion topics.
- Establish a regular devotional time with your wife. This can be tough if you are busy people. Try studying the scripture together once per week.
