Everyone is seeking the approval of someone, but the sooner you understand why and how it works, the faster you'll find freedom. Especially in sports.
Talking Points:
- Approval-seeking starts for girls all the way back in grade school. It’s easy for your identity to get wrapped up in athleticism, especially if you’re good at sports.
- Female athletes can look for approval from their parents, coaches, friends, and boyfriends.
- Seeking the approval of God is far more motivating for Christian athletes, and there’s no fear in that. Deuteronomy 7:7-9
Quote This:
“For me, I was less human because I became all about what I could give, whether physically or emotionally…. There’s no genuine love and care for a person in that.”
