The Ascension of Jesus at the end of his ministry on earth is often overlooked. When we look at it more closely, we see that we can draw courageous endurance and purpose from the final words and dramatic exit of Jesus.
Talking Points:
- Jesus paved the way for us by enduring the greatest suffering. He humbly finished His mission so that we could boldly start ours. Luke 24:44-48
- The commands that Jesus gave to his disciples would require something that they didn’t yet possess. The Holy Spirit is the source of strength that Christians would need after Jesus left. Luke 24:49, John 16:7, Acts 1:8
- Even though Jesus’ mission on earth was complete there is more work to be done. He wants his everyday followers to carry out the mission until He returns. Romans 8:34, Acts 1:9-11
