Talking Points:
- It’s important, from the start of a mentoring relationship, to make the commitment clear. (This also helps in a small group). Here are the basic commitments for mentors and mentees.
- The group leader commits to model a healthy pursuit of God, to pray for their mentees/group, and schedule and facilitate meetings.
- The group members commit to prepare in advance by watching the topic ahead of time, show up, and participate in the conversation.

- Have you ever been a part of a mentoring relationship? How did it work? Was it helpful to you?
- Talk about the FLEX Method for mentoring conversations. Do you have any questions about it (or about how the resource library works)?
- Take some time to schedule your meetings now, preferably at a fixed time each week. Will you meet on the phone or in person? Will others join you? Be clear about the details.
- Talk about your basic commitment to each other. Can you sign on to this commitment? Try to make the commitment for 3 months, and renew the commitment as necessary.
