- Understanding the Bible helps us to know the Truth and how to combat the lies we hear in our culture. Psalm 119:11
- Your thoughts influence everything about you- your emotions, your identity and your goals and aspirations. So, it’s important that your thoughts are rooted in truth.
- Context is important. While memorizing verses is great, it’s important to know the meaning of the verse in the context of the whole passage to make sure you are applying each verse correctly in your life.
- The Five Tips are:
- 1. Keep it in front of you- write it down.
- 2. Listen to it. Repeat it yourself.
- 3. Act it out. Hand motions can help to remember the words.
- 4. Use music. Create a beat or song to say the verse or use a song you know well.
- 5. First letter technique. Write out the first letter of each word in the verse and then recite the verse as you go.
