Bryan talks with David Kim about rest. All men - but especially the hard-driving ones - need to find their "rock at the river" where they can stop and observe the principle of the Sabbath.

Talking Points:

  • Health and wholeness – both mentally and spiritually – comes when you intentionally make time to stop and relax. Genesis 2:3
  • It’s difficult for most men to balance their responsibilities with their need for rest. But in the grand scheme of things, God doesn’t need us to keep the world spinning.
  • The Sabbath principle is as much about relinquishing the “illusion of control” as it is about stopping and taking a break. Hebrews 4:9-11

Quote This:

The beautiful thing about the sabbath is that God instituted it as a weekly reminder of two things. One is that all true blessing comes from his grace, not our labor. The other is that we hallow him and honor him and keep the day holy if we seek the fullness of his blessing by giving our special attention to him on that day. – John Piper
