What do you do when the person you're trying to mentor doesn't seem to be into it? Is it Christ-like to keep wasting your time?
Talking Points:
- Jesus told his disciples not to “throw pearls before pigs”. He was talking about not wasting your time on people who aren’t interested in the truth. Matthew 7:6
- Give everyone an opportunity to respond to your mentoring invitation, but don’t push too hard. You may need to let them off the hook until they’re ready to value your time.
- The verse above is in the context of Jesus’ more famous statement about not judging others. But his point is to deal with your own issues so you can help other people deal with their issues. Matthew 7:1-5
