Even demons "believe" that Jesus Christ is God and the savior of the world. But what makes true Christian faith different from "demonic" faith?
Key Points:
- Short answer: yes! But what does it mean to “believe in Jesus”? It is always important to define the terms.
- There is a difference between a “true/false” faith and a “true” faith. You can have knowledge and even assent, but this isn’t enough. If you don’t believe in Jesus as the means through which God saves you, you will not be saved.
- There is a difference between a “demonic” faith and a “dynamic” faith (Mark 1:24). Even though demons have great theology, they are not saved. They are rebels against God.
- You can believe things about Jesus, but if you do not believe in Jesus you are not in Christ, you are in trouble.
Quote This:
James 2:19-20 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
