When college athletes are recruited, the program is incredibly intentional about the relationship. Christian athletes should view teammates the same way.

Talking Points:

  • Don’t let your status or schedule keep you from pursuing meaningful relationships. Jesus modeled this with the woman at the well. John 4:1-15
  • Some of your teammates might feel like outcasts, but Jesus still wants a relationship with them. You might be the one to introduce them to the source of life.
  • After you initiate and make a connection, be ready to direct others to the Bible or to Jesus.

“As an athlete, everyone loves being recruited – that feeling of being wanted.” – Mike Sanfratello
