Kenzie Dwyer

Certified Student Mentor

Hi, I’m Kenzie! I’m a senior in high school and a straight-A student. I’ve mentored girls for over three years, and I’m also the director of student content at FLEXTALK.org and pursueGOD.org. I have a passion for helping girls find their true identity in Christ, rather than looking for it in all the wrong places.

How I Mentor

I mentor girls both in person and over the phone. Usually I meet with 3-4 girls at a time in a student group, but I sometimes do mentoring one-on-one. Here’s how it works:

  1. First, we find a topic and send it out in a group text. Usually we choose topics from the student pages at pursueGOD.org or FLEXTALK.org, but sometimes we wander into other categories on those sites. See below for the most recent student topics.
  2. Next, everyone watches the video and learns about that topic on their own. I encourage my girls to journal on the topic before we come together to talk. That helps everyone take more ownership in the conversation.
  3. Last, we get together to talk. I like to use a few questions provided on the topic post, and I usually ask a couple of my own questions. I do a lot of listening to my girls to find out what they’re thinking and where they need help. Then I share my insights and challenge them to think about an action step.

And that’s it. It’s called “topic-at-a-time” mentoring, and it has the power to change lives. I was mentored this way, and now I’m doing it to help other girls just like me.

How to Hire Me

Mentoring is not professional counseling. It’s more like tutoring, except that it’s about learning faith and values instead of math and English. Most tutors my age charge around $15 to $25 per hour, so $20 is my going rate. I usually meet 3-5 hours per month with my mentees, and I believe it’s well worth the money. If you want to put me to work, email me by clicking the button below.

Oh yeah. I also make a commitment to pray regularly for the girls I mentor. My motivation for doing this is not the money. I want to help girls pursue God and find freedom in Jesus!
