The Bible teaches that Christians shouldn't make their lives about a political agenda or a theological distinctive.

Talking Points:

  • Christians can fall into the trap of becoming so obnoxious and opinionated about their political views that they elevate it to biblical levels. That’s wrong. Yes, be involved in politics and yes, allow God’s word to shape your views. Titus 3:1-2
  • Some Christians are more interested in arguing over finer doctrinal points than in allowing the gospel to transform their position in the world. Yes, read your bible and yes, learn sound theology. But don’t make your doctrinal interpretations a stumbling block for people who are far from God. Titus 3:9-11
  • More than anything, Christians are defined by the simple gospel: that we are all broken by sin, but God in his love set us free through the work of Christ on the cross. That’s the most important thing about us, and it affects the way we relate to the world around us. Titus 3:3-8
