What if Tony Robbins gave you a year of his time and wisdom? What if God did it?
Talking Points:
- What would you do if Tony Robbins came to you and said he would spend a year helping you to grow your investment? You would probably jump at the chance to learn from a guy who has done well for himself.
- Tony would spend time with you teaching you what to do but your success will only come when you put his principles into practice.
- Jesus taught a similar lesson with the parable of the talents. A master gave an investment to three different people and all three had a different response to the gifts. Clearly the servants who did something with their treasures were the ones rewarded. Matthew 25:14-30
Discussion:
- Initial reactions to this topic? What jumped out at you?
- Read Matthew 25:14-30. Who was praised in the story? Why did the master in the parable get angry when the servant did nothing with his talent/money? After all, the servant protected his money & returned everything he was given. What is Jesus’ point to the parable?
- Identify a talent or two most people don’t know you have. How could that talent be used to build God’s kingdom?
- How many times has God called you to get in the game and you didn’t answer? Or another way: How many times has God knocked on your door & tried to get your attention? Why did you hesitate or ignore those promptings?
- What can you start doing to invest your God-given talents to help others?
- Is there a step you need to take based on today’s topic?
