Ryan is a real-life guy who uses the pursueGOD.org resources to mentor a few guys at work. Here's what he's learned so far.

Talking Points:

  • It’s not as awkward as you think. Just send a link and then follow up with a conversation.
  • You don’t have to call it mentoring. That might be weird, so don’t call it that.
  • It doesn’t take Ned Flanders. The pastor types don’t have that many friends anyway.
  • It’s better than crap advice. When I don’t use the tool, the conversation can often become hopeless.
  • People want this. If you really genuinely share the truth in love, people want more of it.
  • You don’t need all the answers. The resources do a good job with truth, but it’s more about love anyway.
  • You don’t always need a video. The tools will help you gain wisdom and confidence to speak truth – even without the tools.
  • Mentoring is messy. You might feel like you’re in over your head, but don’t give up.
  • It’s the fastest way to grow. Foundations Truth 3 is not just a theory; it actually happens when you mentor.
