Ryan Lochte, Benedict Arnold, and Esau. Many men these days throw away a good name, a future, and even great wealth for something completely worthless.

Key Points:

  • Ryan Lochte, an Olympic gold-medalist in swimming made up a story that he was robbed at gunpoint in Brazil during the Olympics to generate buzz about himself in the media.
  • Benedict Arnold, a general for the Continental Army during the American Revolution, had many successes for the American side, but felt he was not recognized enough and eventually defected to the British side. After the war, his name became an insult.
  • Esau foolishly traded away his right to inheritance as the firstborn son to Jacob in exchange for a measly bowl of soup.
  • We can all be guilty of wasting our legacies if we chase after worldly things instead of what God wants for us.

Quote This:

2 Corinthians 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
